Both English and Mandarin are my native languages as I am from Singapore and we are all bilingual. I have been tutoring children who are taking English as a second language in school and have been successful. I also have been giving beginner Mandarin lessons to adults and I usually focus on very simple words in the beginning and on the pronunciation.
